Express & Time-Critical Transport

Direct, non-stop express transport across Europe for line-stop, AOG and deadline-critical freight. Vehicle dispatched within hours, two drivers where the timing demands it.

When the date cannot move

Some shipments have no tolerance. A production line waiting on one component, a retail promotion with a fixed on-shelf date, a replacement part for a machine that is losing money every hour it stands still. For those, the normal logic of freight - consolidate, optimise, wait for the lane to fill - is exactly the wrong approach.

Express transport inverts it. One vehicle, one load, straight through.

How we run an express job

  1. You get in touch. Call +421 948 998 193, send a message or email info@dmfexpress.sk - express requests are handled immediately, by a forwarder who can commit on the spot.
  2. We check real availability. Because the fleet is ours, we know within minutes which vehicle can be released and where the driver’s remaining driving time stands.
  3. We dispatch. The vehicle moves to the loading point, usually within a few hours in Slovakia and neighbouring regions.
  4. We drive direct. No depot, no transhipment, no consolidation stop. For long legs we deploy a two-driver crew so the vehicle keeps moving through the night.
  5. We report continuously. You get position updates on the agreed interval and a call the moment anything changes.

Express runs with vans without a tachograph

We also run express jobs with smaller vehicles without a tachograph - from a Caddy for 1 to 2 pallets (up to 500 kg) and box vans for 5 Euro pallets (up to 1 200 kg) to curtain-side vans for 8 to 10 Euro pallets (up to 1 000 kg). For small, urgent consignments they are the fastest and most flexible option: they leave immediately, need no full-size trailer and reach sites a heavy truck cannot.

What express transport is typically used for

  • Line-stop and production emergencies - a missing component that has halted an assembly line.
  • Spare parts for machinery and plant - where downtime cost dwarfs freight cost.
  • Retail and promotion deadlines - goods that must be in the distribution centre before a fixed slot closes.
  • Trade fair and event logistics - stand materials and exhibits with an immovable build-up window.
  • Recovery of failed deliveries - where another carrier has already let the shipment down.
  • Pharmaceutical, medical and laboratory consignments - often combined with temperature control.

Realistic transit times from Bratislava

These are direct-run estimates with a two-driver crew where needed, measured from loading:

DestinationIndicative transit
Vienna, Brno, Budapest2–4 hours
Prague, Krakow, Graz5–7 hours
Munich, Zagreb, Warsaw8–10 hours
Frankfurt, Milan, Berlin10–14 hours
Hamburg, Rotterdam, Paris16–22 hours
Barcelona, Copenhagen24–30 hours

Actual times depend on the loading window, traffic, weather, border checks and driving-time regulations. We quote a committed window, not a best case.

What we will not do

We will not promise a transit time that cannot be driven legally. If the deadline can only be met by breaking driving-time rules, we say so and offer the alternatives - a double crew, an earlier loading slot, or a combination with air freight for the critical part of the consignment. An honest no at the quoting stage is worth more than a yes that fails at 3 a.m. on a motorway.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How quickly can a vehicle be at my loading point?
In Slovakia and the neighbouring regions of the surrounding countries we can usually have a vehicle at your ramp within a few hours. For loading points further across the EU we confirm a realistic arrival time on the call - same-day loading is often possible if you call before early afternoon.
What is a direct run and why does it matter?
On a direct run your goods are loaded once, stay on the same vehicle, and are unloaded at destination - no depot, no transhipment, no waiting for other freight to fill the trailer. It removes the two things that cause most delays and most damage: handling and consolidation.
Can you drive through the night?
With a two-driver crew, yes. EU driving-time regulations limit a single driver, but a double crew can keep a vehicle moving almost continuously, which is what makes long legs such as Bratislava to the Benelux or northern Italy possible overnight.
Is express transport much more expensive?
An express direct run costs more than a part load because you are paying for the whole vehicle and for immediate availability. Compared with the cost of a stopped production line or a missed retail slot, it is almost always the cheaper of the two options - which is why most express work we do is repeat business.
